Embroidered Turtle in Rare Vintage Teak, Peanut Shaped Frame
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this amazing turtle!
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a stunning, rare Teak bowl (in the coolest peanut shape!) as the outer frame. This bowl was so fun to play with to paint in a way that felt like the extra bit of magic that this cool turtle needed to swim in.
I painted the interior a shimmery blue to really showcase the turtle and give it a forever pool of blue water to soak in.
It turned out so fun + I am in LOVE!
