Embroidered Owl | Orange + Green

Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!).  Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.

Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this stunning 2 tone owl!

I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a vintage Teak bowl in a fun oval shape as the outer frame. I love how the teak of the outer frame helps accent that dark face of the owl.

*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.  

** It's best to hang your fiber art piece in a place that doesn't get direct sun and I don't recommend touching the fibers.
