Embroidered Owl in Large Vintage Frame | Starry Sky

Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!).  Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.

Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this stunning owl!

I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used vintage bowl/dish as the outer frame. This dish was so fun to play with and I made a shimmery, dark blue to really show off the special feel of the owl and make it pop!  Plus, STARS!

I had a vision for this piece before I even started the embroidery and it turned out so fun!

*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
