Embroidered Folk Art Bird in Vintage Teak Frame | Green
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this amazing folk art bird!
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots (and my new fun thing - stripes!) and used a beautiful, chunky teak vintage bowl as the frame. The yummy apple green background is a color pulled from some of the tiny details inside the bird and helps tie the whole piece together.
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
