Embroidered Fish in Teak Oval Frame | Stripes + Spots
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PURCHASE
***This embroidered fish piece suffered a broken keyhole in the back, which I have repaired. It is fully functional, just looks a little different due to the repair (as you can see in the photos). There is also a hairline crack on the bottom inside of the bowl (also included in the close up photos) that can be seen in the blue paint. All of these scars came from me dropping the piece on a concrete floor - oops!
All this to say, there are the normal scars that come from using vintage pieces, like the knife marks inside the bowl, from when it used to be used (love that stuff!) but a few extras for this piece as well. This is why he's discounted.
He still fully functions as a wall hanging sculpture and I would happily hang him in my own home - he's so fun! ***
---
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots (but added some stripes too!) and used a vintage teak oval bowl to pull it all together. I decided to go for a waterline background in a slightly shimmery, blue so it really feels like the fish is swimming along in the dreamiest space.
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
