Embroidered Bird in Vintage Teak Oval Frame
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this beautiful bird with striped inlay.
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a fun vintage, oval Teak bowl as the outer frame. I offset the bird near the top of the frame to give it a cool modern feel and painting the background a shimmery silver makes the whole piece literally glow on the wall!

D E T A I L S:
- 7.5" long x 5" wide (outer Teak frame)
- 2" deep
- fully hand stitched in my favorite French knots
- keyhole on the back allows you to hang the sculpture flush, from a single nail (my keyhole came out a little wonky due to the wood grain, but don't worry, the piece hangs straight!)
