Embroidered Rainbow Trout in Rare Double Sided Teak Frame
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this amazing trout that I helped design!
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a stunning, rare Teak bowl (in the coolest double sided shape) as the outer frame. This bowl was so fun to play with to paint in a way that felt like the extra bit of magic that this cool trout needed to swim in.
I painted the interior a shimmery blue to really showcase the fish and give it a forever pool of blue water to soak in.
FUN FACT: I made a piece like this cutie for myself a couple months ago and love it SO MUCH that I had to make another for someone else to get to have the same feels in their own home. We will have sibling trouts :)
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
