Embroidered Decorative Oval in Vintage Teak Frame

Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!).  Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.

Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - decorative oval frame.  (That wavy edge!)  I love that the embroidered piece is shaped like something from the past, but it's made modern with the stitches and the fun colors!

That berry color in the background is so delicious too!

*keep in mind, the outer teak frame is vintage and shows some signs of wear around the edge (as you can see in the photos).  These details are to be expected from a vintage piece that has lived a whole life before this and only adds to the character of the piece and the stories it can tell.

- keyhole on the back allows you to hang the sculpture flush, from a single nail
