Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this amazing bird that gives all the cool folk art vibes. Plus, that stripe!
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a stunning, vintage Teak bowl as the outer frame. This bowl has a really cool wavy edge detail on the outside that gives it a little extra somethin'.
I painted the center a shimmery, gunmetal color that kinda has a little hint of purple in the right light. I think the darker background really helps show off the bird!I
