Embroidered Turtle in XL Vintage Striped Frame

I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a, rare striped wood tray (in the coolest long, skinny shape!) as the outer frame. This tray was so fun to play with and to paint in a way that felt like the extra bit of magic that this cool turtle needed to swim in.  It's giving me cool, vintage surfboard vibes which I really love.

I painted the interior a shimmery blue to really showcase the turtle and give it a forever pool of blue water to soak in.

It turned out so fun + I am in LOVE!

*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.  There was a hairline crack on the bottom edge that I filled - you can see it in the up close photos.

** It's best to hang your fiber art piece in a place that doesn't get direct sun and I don't recommend touching the fibers.
