As I've been working through feelings of what "home" really means in my personal life, I knew I wanted to make some embroidered home pieces to share with the world - somehow that morphed into a house on the moon...obviously!
-
I stitched the center of the wooden house (handmade by a talented couple down in Florida) in my favorite French Knots.
The moon is hand sculpted, complete with craters and bumps and texture and a golden sheen.
I chose an extra chunky, vintage teak bowl to frame it all together. One of my favorite shape frames for these wall sculptures because it's just so sleek but has a good depth to it and always beautiful wood grain throughout.
The yummy, deep moody blue background shimmers in a kinda blue/green way and adds the best space-y depth to the piece. Plus, STARS!

*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
** It's best to hang your fiber art piece in a place that doesn't get direct sun and I don't recommend touching the fibers.
