Embroidered Fish in Oversized Teak Bowl | Tropical Trout
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames sourced from a couple who makes them by hand (!!!). Although I loved them, I hadn't made more after that first batch.
Now I'm playing with some of their newer frames - like this amazing fish!
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a stunning, oversized vintage Teak bowl as the outer frame. This bowl is larger than the usual vintage bowls I work with, but felt like the extra bit of magic and space that this cool fishy needed to swim in.
I painted in the center a deep and yummy blue to really showcase the bright vibes of the fish and give it a forever pool to soak in.
It turned out so fun + I am in LOVE!
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
