Embroidered Bug with Vintage Disco Ball Antennae
Working on this piece woke something up in my soul that has been missing for a bit.
I know that sounds a little dramatic for a make-believe bug, but it's just the truth. It was fun to work on and very cool to see it come to life in the end - with the addition of the coolest, vintage metal disco ball antennae.
Sometimes you need a little disco ball in your life. Sometime you need two. I don't make the rules.

I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a special, vintage teak tray/bowl, to pull it all together. The creature frames are handmade by a couple down in Florida, they're amazing and so fun to incorporate into my work. I love all the details in this piece and believe that larger size will really add a bold impact to wherever you choose to display it.
At first I wasn't sure if I should part with this one, but it feels like it gave me the boost I needed in the making process, and I want that feeling to get to pass on to the next person who needs it.
The yummy, deep moody purple, shimmery background adds the best bit of depth to the piece too.
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
** It's best to hang your fiber art piece in a place that doesn't get direct sun and I don't recommend touching the fibers.
