Embroidered Bee with Vintage Metal Disco Ball Antennae
Years ago, I made some embroidered brooches in these beautiful wooden frames but kept a couple, until now. I had known I wanted to try a bug of some kind and this ladybug was my first try - and I LOVE how it turned out!
Complete with vintage, metal disco ball antennae - because I can't resist a little disco ball action whenever possible.
I stitched the center in my favorite French Knots and used a stunning, oversized vintage Teak bowl as the outer frame. This bowl is larger than the usual vintage bowls I work with, but felt like the extra bit of magic and space for the fun ladybug to hang out in.
I painted in the center a shimmery, vibrant apple green to really showcase the ladybug and give it lush home.
*Teak outer frame is a used, vintage piece, which means it may have signs of wear and tear that only add to the story of the overall piece.
** It's best to hang your fiber art piece in a place that doesn't get direct sun and I don't recommend touching the fibers.
